Greg was an award winning journalist with The Australian newspaper before embarking on a distinguished career with media and PR agency, Javelin Australia. There he worked with many of Australia’s leading corporations, sports, community and not-for-profit organisations.
Greg has an exceptional news sense and an outstanding knowledge of traditional and social media on a national and international scale.
His strategic insights and extensive list of media contacts have made him an invaluable asset to Australia’s leading brands, businesses and sports organisations.
Career highlights include:
Attending four Olympic Games as part of the Australian Olympic Team media staff
Managed media and communications for the Wallabies and the Australian Rugby Union
Launched the unveiling of the Hyundai A-League and managed Football Federation Australia’s media headquarters at the 2006 FIFA World Cup
Responsible for media and PR for the SCG Trust and ANZ Stadium
Consultant to V8 Supercars, Australian Sports Foundation, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Cricket NSW, PGA Golf Tour of Australasia, Swimming Australia and many more.
Wrote GOLDOC’s Communication Strategic Plan which is its blueprint for all media, PR, social media, community relations, Government relations and marketing communication activities through to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018.
Sponsorship leveraging and community programs with Telstra, Australia Post, Carlton & United Breweries, BankWest and Fitness First.
Greg was responsible for the creation of the Jane McGrath Day promotion at the annual SCG cricket Test. The “Pink Test” has become an iconic Australian sports event leading to the extraordinary growth of the McGrath Foundation.
He also created and promoted the SCG’s 100th cricket Test match celebrations in 2012 which was awarded Sports Event of the Year Award at the global Stadium Business Awards in 2013.
